The Many Different Breeds of Chickens

You will need to know how to differentiate between the two groups. Firstly you will notice that the bantam groups of chickens have individuals smaller in size than the standard. What you will also need to know, is that there are many different breeds of chickens in each different country in the world. There are as many as 12 classes that are named according to specific geographical locations. Within these classes there are more than 60 breeds, and within the breeds there are more than 175 different varieties.

There are many different reasons why you would want to go into chicken farming. The main reason many people go into chicken farming is for the profit. A lot of the time, however, people who are in the business for profit only, tend to mistreat their chickens and run the risk of selling diseased, unhealthy chicken meat and eggs to the public. As the old saying goes, a happy chicken is a healthy chicken. So, it is very important that you handle your chickens with care and treat them properly, as well as feed them well, because it is what you put in that determines what you get out. Another reason to go into chicken farming is purely recreational, and most people who raise and keep chickens as pets will look after them the best.
